How Does a Smile Makeover Work?
To begin the smile makeover process, you’ll first need to meet with your dentist at Turning Leaf Dental for a consultation. There, you’ll go over your smile goals, including what you do and don’t like about your current smile. Next, your dentist will discuss all of the procedures available to help achieve those goals, take impressions if necessary, and even let you see your anticipated results with the help of a free smile preview from Premier Veneers.
The Benefits of Getting a Smile Makeover
A smile makeover is so much more than just an improvement to your appearance. It can also increase your mouth function, reduce your risk of future oral health problems, boost your self-confidence and self-esteem, and create a younger, more vibrant appearance.
Best of all, your treatment could last for a decade or more, providing plenty of reasons to smile!
Understanding the Cost of a Smile Makeover
Because of the highly personalized nature of treatment, the cost of a smile makeover varies from patient to patient. Our team will walk you through all the financial details of your treatment plan, so you’ll never be surprised by your total.
At Turning Leaf Dental, we are happy to work with CareCredit, a third-party financier that provides flexible financing plans to break up the cost of your smile makeover into multiple, low-to-no interest monthly payments.
Smile Makeover FAQs
How Many Treatments Can You Include in a Smile Makeover?
A smile makeover from Turning Leaf Dental can include any number of the cosmetic and restorative services we offer. For example, a patient who wishes to address stains and alignment issues may benefit from a customized treatment plan that includes teeth whitening and Invisalign clear aligners. Another patient who wishes to conceal chips and cracks may need a smile makeover designed to rebuild damaged enamel with treatments like porcelain veneers, cosmetic bonding, and dental crowns. We’ll be happy to help you understand the best ways to help you achieve the smile of your dreams and find a convenient treatment schedule for them when we see you for your consultation at our office in Boston.
Do I Have to Be within a Certain Age Range to Receive a Smile Makeover?
While small children are usually considered too young for cosmetic dental treatment, smile makeovers can be an excellent way for virtually anyone who isn’t happy with their teeth to achieve a more pleasing smile. The most important factor in your candidacy for a smile makeover is your oral health since most cosmetic treatments require patients to be free from oral infections like cavities and gum disease. We’ll be happy to address issues like these issues with restorative treatments in our office if necessary to make you an excellent candidate later.
However, it’s best to wait until the teeth are sufficiently matured before performing teeth whitening, so we’ll typically only recommend that treatment to patients who are fourteen or older.
Are Smile Makeovers Covered by Insurance?
Most dental insurance plans are designed to encourage patients to receive preventive care that can make potentially costly restorative treatments unnecessary, and, while needed restorative procedures usually receive at least partial coverage, cosmetic treatments typically don’t receive any. It’s unlikely that your plan will cover elective aesthetic work designed to improve the appearance of your teeth, but restorative treatments included in your smile makeover may receive 50% to 80% coverage. In some cases, a porcelain veneer used to repair a tooth that has been damaged may be partially covered since it provides medical benefits. The only way to know for sure what your policy will cover is to schedule a consultation at our office in Boston.
Can Multiple Procedures Be Completed During One Appointment?
It’s perfectly possible for two or more procedures to be completed during one appointment depending on the treatments included in your smile makeover. For example, we can administer teeth whitening and cosmetic bonding on the same day or prepare teeth for or place veneers and crowns during the same appointment. However, it’s important to remember that visits including multiple treatments will probably take longer than those that include only a single procedure.
