Where Did You Study Dentistry & Periodontology?

Dr. Salem is a graduate of Saint Louis University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in biology. She then obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine before earning her certificate in periodontology and Master of Medical Science in oral biology from the Harvard University School of Dental Medicine.

In 2014, Dr. Salem became a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. During her master’s training, she completed her thesis on implant-related bone augmentation, as well as published and reviewed research articles in reputable dental journals. In addition, she is certified in Wilckodontics®, a technique that helps to accelerate the time needed for orthodontics.

Outside the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Salem believes that being active in the community is crucial as a healthcare professional. In the past, she has organized and ran oral cancer screenings at the Tobin Community Center in Roxbury. Internationally, she has participated in dental mission trips serving Syrian refugees in the Middle East. Furthermore, she taught hygiene students at Forsyth Institute of Dental Hygiene and pre-doctoral students at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and today, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
